Planting and Caring for Lily of the Valley
CHOOSING AND PREPARING A PLANTING SITE
Lily of the Valley like well drained soil, and do best in partial shade. Full sun will kill this plant unless it is heavily watered. If water stands in the bed they are planted in for over 5 hours after watering or rain, please raise the bed soil level or move to a different spot. If you live in a warm growing zone you will want to plant these in the shade.
HOW TO PLANT LILY OF THE VALLEY
-Cut off the lower end of the roots, this will promote water uptake and growth.
-Spread the roots, and leave the top part of the pip just barely poking out of the soil.
WATERING
Lily of the Valley prefers moist, but not saturated soil. Water whenever the soil is dry.
Lily of the Valley can also be planted in pots.
