What color are Blue Boy Dahlia flowers?

Blue Boy produces violet-purple petals; despite its name, the flowers are not true blue. The blooms are fully double and decorative, with a semi-dinnerplate form.

When will the Blue Boy Dahlia Tuber ship?

This is a Spring 2027 preorder and is scheduled to ship in Spring 2027, not immediately. Plan your purchase around that shipping timeframe.

How tall does Blue Boy Dahlia grow, and when does it bloom?

Blue Boy reaches approximately 36 inches tall and blooms from summer through fall. Its flowers add depth to garden borders and can be gathered for bouquets.

How should I plant and care for a Blue Boy Dahlia Tuber?

Plant outdoors after the last frost, once the soil has warmed, in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Avoid soggy conditions; water regularly after growth is established, add support as needed, and remove spent blooms to encourage continued flowering.

Can I grow Blue Boy Dahlia in a cold climate, and is it a tuber or seeds?

The Blue Boy Dahlia Tuber is tuber planting material, not seeds, and the variety is hardy in USDA zones 8–10. In colder climates, lift the tubers after frost and store them in a cool, dry, frost-free place over winter; tuber size and shape vary naturally.
