A little sunshine with a wild streak. Cannova® Gold Leopard canna lily lifts golden-yellow blooms, generously freckled with orange, above lush green leaves. One live, rooted starter plant per order brings the promise of bold summer color to a sunny border or a favorite garden container.

Let it take center stage in a mixed planter or repeat its warm, spotted blooms through the garden. The leopard pattern belongs to the flowers; the broad, banana-like leaves are green.

  • You receive: 1 live, rooted canna starter plant, ready to pot up and grow on, not a mature flowering specimen or bare rhizome.
  • Variety: Cannova® Gold Leopard; Canna × generalis.
  • Flowers: Golden yellow with orange spots.
  • Foliage and habit: Green leaves; upright growth.
  • Mature height: 30–48 inches.
  • Mature spread: Approximately 14–20 inches.
  • Light: Full sun.
  • Bloom season: Summer into fall.
  • Hardiness: Tender perennial, generally overwintered outdoors in USDA zones 8–11 where local conditions allow.

Planting and care: Pot up on arrival in rich, well-drained potting mix, keeping the top of the root ball level with the soil surface. Water thoroughly and keep evenly moist; this canna appreciates generous water during active growth. Gradually acclimate to outdoor sun and plant outside after frost danger has passed and conditions are warm. Feed during active growth according to the fertilizer label; the grower recommends feeding every two weeks.

Winter care: In colder areas, grow as a seasonal plant or lift and store rhizomes frost-free. Winter survival depends on drainage, exposure, and local temperatures.

About your starter: Plant size, foliage, and roots vary. Mature flowering images illustrate representative growth and do not show the size of the young plant supplied.
