Planting Your Iris

Choose a location receiving at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day with loose, well-draining soil.

Plant the rhizome shallowly with the upper portion sitting at or slightly above soil level. Avoid planting bearded iris too deeply.

Space plants approximately 12–18 inches apart to provide room for growth and good air circulation.

Water thoroughly after planting to encourage root establishment. Once established, allow the soil to begin drying between waterings and avoid consistently wet conditions around the rhizome.
