Garden Story
Some flowers simply bloom. Others leave an impression.
Art Deco is one of those unforgettable irises that quietly commands attention. Its striking contrast of rich blue-violet and crisp white evokes timeless elegance, while its beautifully stitched petals create the appearance of fine hand-painted artwork. Like the architectural movement that inspired its name, Art Deco is bold, sophisticated, and effortlessly refined.
As one of the first tall bearded irises to bloom each spring, Art Deco announces the arrival of the season with grace. Whether planted in sweeping drifts or nestled among your favorite perennials, this remarkable iris offers a display you'll look forward to year after year.
🌿 Garden Reflection
The first flowers of spring always feel a little magical.
After months of waiting, they remind us that beauty has been quietly preparing beneath the soil all along.
Art Deco is one of those flowers that rewards patience—and makes every spring feel like a fresh beginning.
🌸 Why We Love It
At Blue Buddha Farm, we're always drawn to varieties that feel timeless.
Art Deco has all the qualities we look for in an exceptional iris: dependable performance, elegant form, and a color combination that's both dramatic and refined. It begins blooming very early in the season, extending the joy of spring just a little longer, and its lightly sweet fragrance is a welcome bonus when planted along walkways or near outdoor seating.

🌱 Planting Guide
Plant your iris rhizome in late summer through fall for the strongest spring performance.
Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil. Create a small mound of soil, spread the roots over the mound, and position the rhizome so the top remains just above the soil surface. Planting too deeply is one of the most common reasons irises fail to bloom.
Space plants 12–24 inches apart to allow room for future growth and healthy air circulation.
🌿 Care Guide
Water thoroughly after planting to help establish roots. Once established, bearded irises are remarkably drought tolerant and require little maintenance.
After flowering, remove spent bloom stalks while allowing the foliage to remain until it naturally begins to decline. Dividing every three to five years helps maintain vigorous plants and abundant blooms.
